In my last blog, I talked about the function of the Gallbladder, what causes gallstones and how to diagnose if you have gallstones. I understand most doctors would usually advice patients to get a Cholecystectomy – surgical removal of the gallbladder- to eliminate pain associated with having gallbladder stones. The thought behind this is that once the gallbladder is removed, the liver overtakes and the bile moves directly from liver via the common bile duct to the small intestines. However, not having a gallbladder leads to serious problems of constant diarrhea. (more…)

Complex carbohydrates are rich in fiber and are not highly processed like refined carbohydrates, take longer to digest and hence provide a sustained source of energy for a longer duration. You will also feel satiated faster with lesser quantity of food and will not have that urge to snack unhealthily between meals. (more…)
